Jennifer Juneau

Jennifer Juneau is a 2025 Acker Award recipient for her poetry. Her short fiction collection Maze was published in September 2024 by Roadside Press. She is the author of the full-length poetry collection More Than Moon, which was a finalist in the National Poetry Series (Is a Rose Press, 2020), and the novel ÜberChef USA (Spork Press, 2019). 

 

She has received a poetry award from The California State Poetry Society and was nominated three times for a Pushcart Prize, the Million Writers Award, and a Best of the Net. She has work published in magazines such as the American Poetry Journal, Cimarron Review, Cincinnati Review, Columbia Journal, Evergreen Review, Gargoyle, Passages North, Poetry Bay, Portland Review, Rattle, Seattle Review, and elsewhere. Her poetry has appeared on Verse Daily as poem-of-the-day. 

 

Juneau lived in Zurich, Switzerland, for over a decade, where she studied in the graduate program for English Literature, Linguistics, and Theory and Criticism at the University of Zurich. She traveled extensively while writing her poetry and fiction. She worked as a professional soccer journalist for 90:00 Soccer Magazine and covered live matches with such teams as Manchester United, Chelsea FC, and Liverpool FC in The Champions League. Her articles were syndicated to USA Today Sports, FOX News Sports, and various other sports publications. She also wrote opinion articles for The Bleacher Report. 

 

After living and traveling through Europe for eighteen years, she lives and writes in New York City, where she curates The Phoenix Poetry Open Mic series in the East Village.
